DL-DX RTTX Contest Group (DRCG) DL-DX RTTY Contest 2007 This year we celebrated a small jubilee - the fifth running of the DL-DX RTTY Contest on the first weekend of July 2007. The number of participating stations reached 1340. 511 logs were submitted, again an increase of 14.1% compared to 2006. Besides the 490 logs for scoring there were 21 checklogs. Our thanks go to all who participated and sent a log. Several stations were able to excede the 1000 QSO mark in 24 hours: 9A5W, RD3A (as last year) in class A and DL3TD in the new class F. It is noteworthy that none of the multi-operator stations were able to reach 1000 QSOs. All logs were checked electronically. The logs showed a total of 92526 QSOs of which 66233 (71.6%) could be directly compared by our log checking software. The average error quota was 4.31% being slightly less than in 2006. Nevertheless log quality still needs to be improved as several logs had to be changed to cheklog. Being near or right in the minimum of the solar cycle propagation conditions were only moderate. The number of participating stations and of contest contacts increased despite this. 1340 stations from 92 countries/entities were active. The 490 logs came from these continents: Europe: 304 Nort-America: 114 Asia. 50 Oceania: 11 South-America: 10 Africa: 1. The highest number of logs came from: United States: 92 Germany 86 Poland 30 Russian Federation 30. 17 contest clubs competed for a good ranking. Members of the Bavarian Contest Club with their increased interest in RTTY contesting brought the BCC to number 1 position, followed by the DRCG and the Russian Contest Club. The two new classes introduced in 2007 saw 10 logs for class F - simply said SO2R and only one log for class G - multi-unlimited. The organizers hope that all SO2R operators indeed submitted their logs for class F. Summary of logs: Class A: 158 B: 107 C: 123 D: 80 E: 11 F: 10 G: 1 In 2008 the DL-DX RTTY contest again runs on the first weekend of July from 5 July at 1100 UTC to 6 July 1059 UTC.
